what is life coaching?
Life coaching is a collaborative partnership where we will work together to clarify your goals, identify challenges, and determine an action plan. Coaching with me is forward-looking and solutions-focused. I am a curious person who relies on strategies that are practical and effective.

the coaching process
the Discovery call
Every coaching engagement starts with a complimentary call where we get to know each other, discuss your challenges, and determine how the coaching process can help. From there, we decide if a compatible working relationship is in our future. If so, we enter into a formal coaching partnership. Typically, 10-12 sessions, every other week, proves sufficient to meet most client goals; but ultimately, you get to decide what works for you. I have had clients who I see weekly for 6 months, whereas some may only need a month of weekly sessions. While every coaching engagement is unique, it generally follows the template below:
phase 1: goal clarity
In our first coaching sessions we will clarify your goals and insure they are in alignment with your values. We will do this by clearly defining an outcome and mapping out what that will look like for you at the end of our coaching engagement. We will also investigate the motivation behind your goals.
phase 2: explore challenges and concerns
Next, we will explore the challenges that may be holding you back. The obstacles can be many and varied, and identifying them are essential to moving forward.
phase 3: mindset shifts
During this phase, we will see mindset shifts, where challenges become opportunities for growth and learning. Each session we will monitor and see if progress is being made, and adapt when necessary.
phase 4: habit and behavior building
The last part of the coaching engagement involves habit and behavior building in order to help you create your new reality. We will review the progress we have made and focus on creating structures for long-term growth. We will work together to create a plan for sustaining the changes you have seen in yourself so that you can continue to live a coherent and meaningful life that is in alignment with your core values.
about me
I’m Jeanne, mom to four great kids plus the sweetest dog you’ll ever meet. I joyfully live the paradox of being an extroverted introvert. I love being with people while at the same time dream about living in a cozy cabin on a secluded, rocky beach far, far away.
I hold a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University with an emphasis in early childhood education and lived this scenario pretty happily for the first half of my life, teaching elementary school and then raising my four kids.
Around the age of 40, I found myself in the proverbial mid-life crisis. While I didn’t buy a sports car or shave my head, I did decide to get my nose pierced. What can I say? I live life on the edge. In all seriousness, it was a challenging time.
Dante, who is arguably the first to write about this phenomenon, starts out his epic poem, The Divine Comedy, like this: “Midway through life’s journey, I found myself in a dark wood, having lost the way.” I could relate. It was unexpected and disorienting, and in the end, was basically a summons of the soul that I could not ignore. This led me on a journey of self-inquiry and growth and is ultimately why you are reading these very words right now.
As a life coach, I love partnering with people who are in their own dark wood, or even just on a path that has some branches and logs in the way. I won’t tell you which way to go, but I’ll gladly hold the flashlight and walk with you. As long as you arrive with curiosity and commitment to do the work, I can promise the path eventually makes itself clear, (either that, or YOU clear the path yourself!)
I received my Diploma in Transformational Coaching through the Animas Center for Coaching which is accredited by the International Coaching Federation and the Association for Coaching. In addition to coaching, I am a Facilitator for Compassionate Integrity Training, and have received certification from the Dallas Yoga Center for Mindfulness Meditation Training.
